DIY: Skin Brightening And Nourishing Face Mask
A lot of people, in the summertime, complain about having dull, dry, and dehydrated skin which means that the skin hasn’t been fed with the needed nourishment lately. Our skin requires adequate levels of both hydration and nutrients to regenerate the surface cells and restore and strengthen the natural protective barrier of lipids to lock moisture and prevent dryness and dullness. Today, we’ll take a look into how we can solve this by our DIY skin brightening and nourishing face mask.
To address this issue, we need to follow a healthy skincare routine that encompasses two things:
- For women, drink at least 3 liters of water each day. For men, at least 5 liters of water each day is recommended.
- Regularly use a face mask that is packed with natural ingredients to replenish your skin with lost nutrients and moisture.
In order to get an all-natural DIY skin brightening and nourishing face mask, the best thing you can do is to do it yourself using your kitchen products. Let’s get started!
For this DIY skin brightening and nourishing face mask, you’ll need:
- Gram flour – 1 tablespoon
- All-purpose flour – 1 tablespoon
- Tomato pulp – 2 tablespoons
- Milk – 2 tablespoons
- Lemon – 1 tablespoon
Note: If you don’t have all-purpose flour available at home, you may skip it and use 2 tablespoons of gram flour instead.
Take a bowl and add all the measured ingredients in it. Mix the ingredients well to form a paste. This paste will not be fine like other face masks because of the presence of tomato pulp in it. Although it’s optional, to get some cooling effect, place the face mask in the refrigerator for at least 30-60 minutes and then apply it on your face. Leave the mask for at least 15-20 minutes and then wash off with tap water.
Exceptional Properties of Ingredients
- Tomato pulp — Reduces the appearance of open pores and clears out blackheads. It also acts as a great skin lightener by lightening dark spots and dull patches. Tomato pulp will also give your skin a boost of antioxidants.
- Lemon juice — Tightens pores and evens out the skin tone. Natural acids replenish the loss of necessary nutrients and reduce dark spots as well.
- Gram flour — Controls excess sebum production and fight infections which ultimately treat acne.
- All-purpose flour — Helps in regeneration of cells and removing tan from the skin. It is rich in vitamins that boost your skin’s collagen production for a youthful look.
- Milk — Removes dirt and excess sebum from the face, treats acne, and hydrates dry skin. The presence of lactic acid treats hyperpigmentation and uneven complexion. Provides needed vitamins and minerals to your skin.
Do it daily before going to bed for at least 2-3 weeks and you’ll notice a considerable improvement in how your skin looks and feels. If you’re a DIY lover, you can also add it to your night-time skincare routine and use it every day — forever.
